Just wait... Someone somewhere is going to be offended by this. Let me break out the digital tissues.
I live in Corpus Christi and the hotel in Robstown was on our news. Last night they interviewed a guy that was asked "what he was being charged and if he thought it to much" ?? His reply was "well I have a "FEMA" voucher so I don't really care anymore since the govt. is paying now". Now as a tax payer that pisses me off..Maybe they should look into that too. Why a hotel that our AG is suing is still on the FEMA list!!!???
I recommend you look into the Red Cross and see exactly where all of the money and goods are actually going.
What about an almost 50 cent per gallon increase in gas and diesel overnight. Especially when the automotive industry in Texas is at an all time low especially the collision industry. If people can't afford gas they definitely aren't fixing cars.
What about all the supermarket chains that did the same with water and etc? You should do it to all of them or else it will just keep happening!
Awesome. It's ridiculous to charge 8.55 dollars for a gallon of gas in Dallas. That's price gouging. The Inn that raise the price of rooms three times more. These people should be ashamed of themselves.
Much as agree with most comments , just remember something H.E.B. stepped up, expecially in s.tx . If they had stories in this area I live in I'd be Patriot. They certainly good start with, but showed their class thruout all this so far. Kroger's not been lax either but then , massive as they are , could been lot more.
It's not only the hurricane that gets you, it's the price gaugers, the looters, the scammers, the frauds, not to mention bugs and disease.
But the govt can't temporarily suspend taxes on fuel to ease the burden on the consumer while gas prices rise...let's punish businesses for responding to the market.
I'm glad Texas is standing by the law and will aggressively go after these crooks. I hope them defending themselves shuts down the operation
