And with higher fees will, there will be fewer visitors. All the more reason to cut services and reduce park lands. After all, not enough people are using them, right?
Tourism is consumerism. And consumerism consumes everything. I live on Mount desert island in Maine. We are being destroyed by tourism /consumerism. This price hike is obviously disgusting. But it might have the great side effect of saving our little bit of Heaven from the hands of the consumers for a little bit longer.
The average person pays 60 bucks to go to an amusement park for a day or more for Disney world. Id pay $60 (per car right? maybe up to 6 ppl in one car) to see Grand canyon, Yellowstone or Yosemite or kings canyon. And the pass is still good for 7 days...and it will generate more $ for the parks...most ppl do these on roads trip where they spend thousands touring the US anyways. $40 is going to break the bank. If u cant afford it. Car pool?
My opinion is that he's place prices out of the reach of average Americans so that he can justify selling off oil and other mineral rights in our national parks.
Should be the other way around, more incentives to create better and more parks and to programs to organically and naturally enjoy our beautiful contry side, mountains, lakes, rivers and sea.
My family and I have NOT gone to Disneyland (or any other amusement park) for years now BECAUSE of the sky-high prices.
Sometimes you have to drive through a park to get to another park...the fees multiply quick!
so are they gona build walls around them?😵 i think its pretty clear they have now idea what a nation park is like https://vimeo.com/channels/staffpicks/241906552
